Richard Slay

Director of Operations
Co-Founder of RightTime KiDS Franchising

At first glance, Richard’s 15+ years experience in telephony, technical support, software development, sales, and project management might seem an unlikely fit for the man at the top of two successful childcare franchises. His story is a mix of career advancement and a passion for family blended into one.

In 1992, after completing his bachelor's degree in electronics engineering, Richard and his wife Anna moved to Cary, NC. Working full-time as a project manager for an investment company, but also very involved in his role as dad, Richard saw the need for professional, short-term childcare. Thus began the idea of opening his own drop-in childcare facility—one built on such high standards that he could comfortably take his own children there.

In March of 2006 Richard purchaseded RightTime KiDS in Cary, NC, followed by the opening of RightTime KiDS in Morrisville, NC in July 2006. He currently owns and operates both facilities, and co-founded RightTime KiDS Franchising in 2008 serving as it's Director Of Operations.

Richard and Anna have two children—a now 16-year old daughter who composes music, has written a 500-page novel and is an Honor Student, and an 8-year old son who loves Club Penguin and his GameBoy!.
